March 31, 2025, marked 20 years since the UN Security Council referred crimes in Darfur to the International Criminal Court (ICC). Despite this milestone, impunity for grave crimes in Sudan persists—especially in the context of the ongoing conflict since April 2023, with serious violations continuing across the country.
To mark this anniversary, Atrocities Watch Africa and Human Rights Watch invite you to a virtual panel discussion on 22 April 2025 (5–6pm EAT) to reflect on progress, challenges, and the urgent need for renewed efforts for accountability in Sudan.
Panelists include:
- Mohamed Osman, Human Rights Watch
- Moneim Adam, Sudan Human Rights Hub
- Hala al-Karib, The Strategic Initiative for Women in the Horn of Africa
- Mossaad Ali, The African Center for Justice and Peace Studies
Moderator: Dismas Nkunda, Atrocities Watch Africa
We hope you can join us for this timely conversation.
